On The Inside

We have a call For (1) JW at the Concord Substation for Asplundh

Job Requirements:
Drug Test 
OSHA 10
Must be able to obtain TVA clearance 
Have Substation Experience
Knowledgeable and physically able to install Tren-wa System
Must able to work from heights at  90 feet +/-
Experience with Physical and P&C TVA  print/drawings.
Understanding of MAD clearances in an energized Substation
An understanding ofSubstation Standards.
Social Security Card Required
Valid Driver’s license Required
Experience in Substation Control House and Wiring
Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs
Job is working 4/10's for 6 weeks

Report to Asplundh's office after call-out.


On The Outside

We have open calls

We have call for (5) JL for MPS

Job Requirements
Drug Test 
Climbing Tools
Valid CDL/valid DOT medical card

Report to MPS's shop after getting a referral


We have a call for (1) JL at Dalton Utilities for Service Electric

Job Requirements:
Class A CDL with valid medical card
Climbing tools
Safety toed shoes
OSHA 10
Dependable transportation

Job Details:
$40.00 a day per diem/and two dollars over scale
4/10 schedule

Report to Service Electric's shop after picking up referral

Inside 

Work on the Inside is very good.   We currently have 86 on Book 1 and 33  on Book 2.  

You are always welcome to sign our book if you are in the area and seeking work. 
Our referral and re-sign info is listed below.

Outside

Work on the Outside is very good. We have 13 Linemen on Book 1 and 1 Linemen on Book 2

IBEW LOCAL 175 REFERRAL POLICY


Initial sign-in shall be in person at the Local Union office.

Referral sign-in shall be allowed at any time during normal operating hours of the Local Union business office (including lunch hour). Signing in after 4:00 PM will be dated for the following day.

All available calls will be listed on the recorder and the website after 5:30 PM each day for Book 1 calls and after*10:30 AM the following day for Book 2 calls.  For available job information call:  800-423-9175 or 423-892-6482.

Call-out Schedule


Book 1 call-out is held at 9:00 AM.

Available jobs will be listed after 5:30 PM on the Job line:  800-423-9175 or 423-892-6482.

When necessary, Book 2 call-out will be Immediately following Book I call-out . Available jobs will be listed  on the Job line: 800-423-9175 or 423-892-6482.


*During times of heavy manpower requests, Local 175’s Dispatcher may, at his discretion, dispatch Jobs beginning at 9:00 AM with Book 1, followed directly afterwards with Book 2 applicants.

If you accept a call and do not report to work you will be removed from the out of work book, unless you have a compelling reason (emergency).

Re-signs are required monthly beginning on the 10th and ending on the 16th day of each month.

All available calls will be listed on the recorder and the website after 5:30 PM each day for Book 1 calls and after *10:30 AM on the following day for Book 2 calls.

Short Calls


When referred on a"Short Call" (14 days or less), the day you pick up your referral counts as the first day. You must re-sign the out of work list within 14 days (Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays included) or you will be removed from the list. Short Calls are limited to 14 days, then return to place on Out of worklist.

Discharge For Cause


Any individual who is discharged two times for cause within a (12) twelve month period, shall have their future referral privileges suspended until they appear before the Appeals Committee for a determination as to their continued eligibility.

Double-booking (signing other out-of-workbooks while employed) is NOT an acceptable practice at IBEW 175 and will not be tolerated. If you have questions pertaining to double-booking, please call our office.
